Emergency Rental Equipment Sent to Roseburg Forest Products

When an emergency arises and boiler equipment is required in a hurry, we take all the necessary steps to get customers what they need, when they need it. This past September, Nationwide Boiler responded to an emergency call and sent rental equipment to Roseburg Forest Products in Weed, CA for support during a damage assessment of their facility and wood boiler. The damage occurred from the Boles Wildfire that swept the small town of Weed in Siskiyou County, leaving the facility non-operational for a period of time.

Sales Engineer Tim McBride received the initial call from our partner, Cole Industrial, in regards to the customer’s situation. A week later and just one day after the order was placed, a 70,000 lb/hr trailer-mounted boiler, mobile skid-mounted 150,000 lb/hr deaerator and mobile skid-mounted water softener shipped from Nationwide Boiler’s headquarters in Fremont, CA to Roseburg’s veneer plant in Weed. As one of the customer’s requirements, we performed burner modifications allowing them to burn liquid propane gas.

Cole Industrial installed the boiler and handled start-up for the customer. The equipment is scheduled to be onsite for the time being until the entire plant is up and running.

The Boles Wildfire burned a total of 516 acres and destroyed over 150 building structures in Siskiyou County. The town of Weed was hit the hardest with 1,500 to 2,000 people evacuated out of a population of only 3,000. No injuries or deaths were reported, and the cause of the fire was found to be larson (http://www.mtshastanews.com/article/20141011/NEWS/141019964).
